Hey All, Jeff speaking.

Good effort rabs. Love the blog. Well, isn't everyone over-achieving at the moment? good stuff.

Hmnm, news? well there is lots of news i guess on my behalf.

My trials and tribulations of the last few months have seemingly settled. I have accepted a position as "Logistics Officer" for Fonterra based in Auckland. Kate and I will be relocating there at some stage. In the meantime, I am intending to head off to Holland for 2 months on work. I am due to depart around the 15th of May but this depends if I can get permission to go or not. Whatever I am up to aside, Kate is going to viet nam in june for holiday and lismore (8 hours north of sydney) for july/august for work. Exciting times. (not as exciting as tokoroa tho)

I am also meant to be graduating in a couple of weeks. Although I just found out that I am not actually allowed to graduate as I didn't submit my application in time. The catch 22 being that I couldn't submit my application til I got a job... Anyways, its just another case of little wee bureaucrats demonstrating power over their tiny wee domain. Turns out Massey is a crap uni.

Also, car stereo was pinched overnight. Nicely snipped out of the dashboard with two neat holes in the back where the speakers were. This is my third burglary since living in Palmy. It is an aweful feeling. I wouldn't recommend it.

So all in all, joyful times. Bring on morning tea.

Jeff

Up, up and away!

Well, Not a bad response! Nice work guys.

Just realised I forgot to actually congratulate Matt on graduating, So Congrats Matt!
How’s life in Tokoroa? Grandma mentioned something about a hard hat and clipboard photo which I’ve been dying to see, I’m thinking you should post it on here…

I would have loved to have seen your exhibition Cam, I graduate on May 12 so I’ll be in Dunedin that weekend and wont be able to make it, but I’m sure I’ll see you in Dunedin if you’re there that weekend?.
Brochure Looks awesome though! And good work on the TXTU website, very impressive! Sneaky wee hint about Edinburgh you dropped in there...

I went to the NZSO on Sat night, they played Tchaikovsky's 6th, not everyone's cup o' tea, but I enjoyed it. Although, now that I'm not a student I certainly miss the $10 tickets. So everyone at Uni take note - use your discounts while you have them, and dont take them for granted!

Well, I'd best get back to work...

Have a fun week everyone.

Dave

A Report from the Wellingtion Frontier

Hello all,

I'm using yellow and black
Actually, Scrap that idea, I'm going to use grey because its far far easier to read.

Well done Dave, great idea!
Sounds like its graduation season or something, congrats to Mat and Dave, although i might see you Dave down in Dunners, as Emmas graduating on Saturday (which i can only guess is the same day as you too?), do you still have the same cell number?

Well, whats been happening...
Emma and I have moved int
o a 'Modest' abode in Mt Vic, with two other flaties, ones a apprentice builder and others a student, both are two years our junior and great people.
It has its Pros and Cons, towns really close and rents really dear*, the house has a backyard but Wellington lacks Sun. and so on.

~Work front~
I have completed one website for TXTU and nearly finished another, for a photographer. I've also been getting work together for my exhibition in Wanaka on the 10th of May, So anyone's most welcome to come along if they so choose. this is the second i've had at the Goodroom, but the first Solo one, as the other one was a collective exhibit.

Its been a great reprieve from the nerdiness of Web development, and if the stars align (things go well), i might have one in Edinburgh soonish.

Its been awesome to hear about everyone
Till next time.

Tally Ho~

Tokoroa Contribution

Hi all,

What a good idea Dave. Yeah, it is difficult to keep up with what is going on in the extended family when I only seem to speak to my direct family around once a week as it is! I choose green because I'm surrounded by forest...

Tokoroa is going well thus far. Good work, managed to call Ash the other day on work related topics and good people! Flat is good, cheap living which is a large advantage of living in a small community.

I have just been to Christchurch for my graduation which was a really good time. Great to catch up with
Hannah and friends and family. I am now an official engineer which is rather nice after 4 years of study. Grandma and Granddad came along which was great and I even saw Jenn and Pete at lunch time as they were in town.

That is all for now, hope to hear from more people as we go along. Take care everyone!

Matt

Timaru Update

Hi Everyone, I will use Red and Black to replicate the Crusaders theme.

David has worked his magic, and here we go---

We are all well and have been quite busy over the last few weeks. Barbara has had a couple of days in Chch on a training workshop. We also have lots of things on in the next few weeks. I have a day in Wellington on Wednesday, and then we are off to Davids Graduation in Dunedin on the 11/12/13th of May. Barbara has an open day at School next Sunday.

The sad news from last week is that Wayne McConnichie died when his Motor Bike left the road on Wednesday Afternoon---His funeral is at midday tomorrow at the Aorangi Park Stadium.

The Super 14 is now into the last 3 weeks and the Crusaders need to win this week to ensure they get the top spot for the finals.

Hear from you all over the next week or so. Cheers, Ashley and Barbara.

First Blog!

Hey Everyone,

Glad you made it to the Blog site!

Hopefully this will make it easy for all of us to keep in touch being that we've all started to move out of the Waimate-Timaru-Christchurch spread! It dawned on me the other day how odd it was for Matt to be graduating and me to not know about it! So, hopefully this will solve some communication problems... Dad's side of our family has a similar blog setup, which has proven quite effective so far, so here's hoping we can emulate its success.

It should work the same as group emails, except be less annoying by not clogging up everyone's inbox. Plus, you get the liberty of blogging or checking what's happening around the country whenever suits you.... It'll obviously work best if everyone tries to contribute about once a week (I find Sunday afternoons the best!). If everyone picks a colour to use (ie i'm blue), then that'd be great to help distinguish authors (as people will inevitably forget to sign their names etc)

So hopefully once everyone gets accustomed to the blog site, then we should have weekly updates from Auckland, Wellington, Palmy, Chirstchurch, Dunners, Timaru, Waimate, Wanaka, Tokoroa, and even Europe. What could be better?

I'll kick start the gossip thing...

Auckland's going really great for me so far. The job is better than I thought it would be, the hours of law clerks in big firms is reputedly ludicrous, but i'm usually out of the office by 5:15 so no complaints there. The office is in the viaduct, which is 12 minutes on a train that leaves from the end of my street (in Newmarket), which costs $1.25 each way.

The flat is working out well, i'm living with accountants and lawyers, so the trivial pursuit is a little intense at times, and the conversation often extremely dry...

My one major purchase so far is my 60L tropical fish tank and 20 fish, which i'm very proud of. Ahh the novelty.

Two weeks ago I was admitted to the bar in Dunedin, which as you all probably know Grandma and Granddad came down for which was awesome! I'm back down that way in 2 weeks for graduation, and so will no doubt catch up with you Dunedinites then.

Well, I should stop now, before you all freak out that you have to write this much, when really one sentene will do.

Happy Bloggin'

Dave
